Disability in the Arts is a community exhibition celebrating the creativity, talent, and unique perspectives of artists with disabilities. Hosted by Art Center Waco in collaboration with the Baylor Center for Disability and Flourishing and the Waco Committee for People with Disabilities, this exhibit showcases a diverse collection of artwork across a variety of mediums.
Through painting, photography, sculpture, fiber arts, digital media, poetry, and more, participating artists invite visitors to experience the world through their creative vision. While some works may explore themes of disability, identity, or accessibility, others simply reflect the artists’ passions, interests, and imaginations.
Disability in the Arts seeks to foster appreciation for the contributions of artists with disabilities, challenge assumptions, and create opportunities for meaningful community connection through the universal language of art. We invite visitors of all ages to engage with these remarkable works, celebrate the artists behind them, and recognize the value of a more inclusive arts community.
