Art Center Waco is inviting pet lovers throughout McLennan County and the surrounding area to submit artwork celebrating their furry, feathered, scaled, or otherwise beloved animal companions for our upcoming community exhibition, Hounds in the Hulse.
You do not have to be a professional artist to participate. We welcome submissions from artists of all experience levels, community members, and pet owners who may have commissioned an artwork of their animal.
Whether it is a painting of your dog, a candid photograph of your cat, a drawing of your rabbit, a sculpture inspired by your horse, or another creative tribute to a beloved pet, we would love to see it!
Submission Details
- Submissions are free.
- Each person may submit up to three artworks.
- All artistic mediums are welcome, including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, mixed media, fiber art, sculpture, ceramics, and more.
- Artwork must feature or be inspired by a pet or companion animal.
- Submissions will be accepted through a Google Form.
- The final deadline to submit is August 31, 2026.
Artwork Requirements
All submitted artwork must be ready to safely display in a gallery.
- There is no minimum artwork size.
- Artwork may not exceed 72 inches in any direction.
- Wall-mounted artwork may not weigh more than 60 pounds.
- Framed artwork must have secure hanging hardware attached.
- Artwork should be clean, complete, and suitable for public display.
Because gallery space is limited, submitting artwork does not guarantee that it will be selected for the exhibition. Art Center Waco will include as many community submissions as possible while creating a safe and thoughtfully arranged exhibition.
Selected participants will receive additional information regarding artwork drop-off, exhibition dates, and pickup.
